What is Yoga |
What is yoga The Yoga (meaning union) could be described as a series of stretching exercises, breathing and relaxation in order to achieve unity and balance mind, body and spirit.
The history of yoga goes back 3000 years BC, with origins in India. The Hindus believed that through yoga could achieve total union with the Braman, which is impersonal energy. Hinduism does not recognize a personal God as do other religions, if they believe that energy is everything and is manifested in many gods.
In Indian culture it is believed that the spirit is trapped in the body, so they seek release through Yoga to conduct union with the divine energy. This fusion is called "samandi".
Over the years the practice of Yoga has been implemented in the different Asian cultures and yoga came to be Buddhist, Hindu, Chinese, Tibetan, etc., And through the discoveries made by yogis, have created different types of systems or traditional yoga.
There are 5 types of yoga systems or classic, these are:- Ashtanga yoga- Hatha yoga- Jnana Yoga- Karma Yoga- Bhakti yoga
Each type of Yoga aims to work with the chakras to achieve an inner emptiness that allows us to connect with divine energy.Later we will be talking specifically about each type of Yoga.
In our Western world, Hatha Yoga has become popular from the need for people to acquire better physical and mental health, exhausted by fatigue and stress generated by the modern world.
Today and in many cases far from their original roots, take yoga as physical exercise alone, and have "invented" new types of yoga, many do not legitimized by traditional schools, such as the Power Yoga.
Whatever your interest in Yoga, whether spiritual or physical, we encourage further research on this fantastic world of relaxation, to find peace and harmony physically, mentally and spiritually this chaotic and stressful world cries.
