A corset (corset Gallicism) is a garment used to stylize the human figure and shape of a desired shape for aesthetic or medical reasons, it can be while wearing or a later time.
In recent years, many items are sold as corsets when, technically, are not. Many of today's corsets are actually bustiers or tops: they are usually made of lace similar to those of old, but hardly altered the figure of the wearer. Likewise, the term corset was erroneously given by the fashion industry to refer to "tops" that mimic the old corsets, as in the Gothic culture. In fact, corsets should be made to measure for a single person.
